What our 4 secondary school backpacks offer
Our style with a removable trolley, the boys’ backpack with wheels, measures 46 x 30 x 23 cm, and the trolley has a telescopic handle and 2 or 6 wheels. It comes with a small lunch bag, has a galaxy print and is made of high-density polyester described as waterproof, and it weighs 0.65 kg without the trolley. Another style, our 40x30x20 cabin backpack of 30 litres, takes a laptop of up to 17 inches, opens to 180° and has a zip pocket that keeps shoes or damp clothes apart, plus an anti-theft zip pocket at the back.
The other two are faux leather backpacks with a vintage look. Our men’s vintage faux leather backpack holds about 20 litres and takes a laptop, A4 documents and a tablet, and our vintage faux leather laptop backpack holds 20 to 35 litres with a padded section for the laptop. Three of the four have padded, adjustable straps, and three are described as waterproof or water-resistant.
How do you choose a backpack for secondary school?
At secondary school, the bag carries large ring binders, textbooks and sometimes a laptop. Start from what the pupil takes every day and how they get there, then check on the product page that the dimensions take an A4 binder.
- A heavy bag and a flat journey: a wheeled backpack can be pulled along the pavement and carried on the back up the stairs.
- A laptop or a tablet: look for a padded compartment and the screen size stated on the product page.
- A more grown-up style: many secondary school pupils prefer a plain city bag to a patterned school satchel.
- Comfort: wide, adjustable straps and a bag worn on both shoulders spread the load better.
A secondary school backpack for a girl or a boy?
A secondary school backpack is chosen first on its size, then on its colour and style. For styles by theme, also see our girls’ backpacks and boys’ backpacks collections.
