What our women’s backpacks offer

A number of them state genuine leather, such as our women’s sheepskin leather backpack, and most of the others are faux leather. The textile styles are in nylon, polyester, Oxford fabric or canvas, like our women’s canvas backpack. Several have room for a laptop, with stated sizes of up to 17 inches, among them our 15.6 inch faux leather laptop backpack in PVC, the cowhide leather backpack that fits a 16 inch laptop and our vintage 15 inch laptop backpack with buckles. Others take a tablet of 9.7 to 13 inches or A4 documents, like our elegant backpack for women, which takes A4.

For a large women’s backpack, many state 20 litres or more, such as our large faux leather backpack for women at 20 to 35 litres, and our backpack with detachable wheels measures 49 x 34 x 23 cm. For a mini size, our mini backpack for women in waterproof nylon Oxford measures 23 x 12 x 29 cm. For a women’s backpack in black, most styles offer that colour, among them our small black faux leather backpack with a tassel, which takes A4 notebooks and a 10 inch tablet.

Among these ladies’ backpacks, the lightest stated weight is 0.35 kg, on our mini hiking backpack, which has a chest strap and two side pockets, and several weigh about half a kilo. Several have padded, adjustable straps, such as our quilted faux leather backpack for women, and some have a padded back. Others convert, worn on the back, on the shoulder, crossbody or by hand, such as our small black leather backpack, which doubles as a shoulder bag, and our faux leather backpack with crossbody strap.

For getting around, three have a strap that slides over a suitcase handle, three have a USB port, one of them depending on the version, and several come with a rain cover, such as our vintage faux leather backpack for women and our boho university backpack for women. Against theft, some put their main zip against your back, like our anti-theft faux leather backpack for women, and our waterproof vegan backpack has an RFID pocket for cards and passport.

How do you choose a women’s backpack for everyday use?

Start with a list of the things you really carry. Then compare the dimensions, the capacity and the storage given on the product pages. If you take a laptop, check that a compartment is stated and that the screen size matches your device.

How do you compare the materials of women’s backpacks?

Read the composition stated on each product page instead of guessing it from the photos. Also compare the care advice when it is given. The leather or faux leather selection narrows the search, but the composition still has to be checked style by style.

Genuine leather or faux leather: what does the product page say?

If you are looking for a luxury women’s backpack or one in high-end leather, start with the material. Most styles in this collection are in faux leather, either PU leather or sometimes PVC. Other product pages state leather, sometimes giving its origin or how it was prepared, such as cowhide, lambskin, sheepskin, oiled cow leather or split leather, sometimes combined with PU. Split leather is the lower layer of the hide, separated from its surface, the grain. Go by the material given in each product page’s characteristics rather than by the style’s name.

What size of women’s backpack should you choose?

Of the product pages that give a capacity, most state under 20 litres, a town size for a wallet, a phone, a pencil case and a few things.

• Mini and small sizes: under 30 cm on each side, for the phone, the wallet and the keys. This is the size of the small, chic women’s backpack, to wear around town or in the evening.
• A4 notebooks and tablet: some product pages say what fits, and you can also compare the stated dimensions with an A4 notebook (21 x 29.7 cm) and the size of your tablet.
